CANELA

Meet Canela, a delightful little cubby chihuahua mix who's approximately 18 months old and weighs around 22 lbs. Her DNA test revealed a fascinating mix of 14 different breeds, giving her a unique and wonderful personality! Canela has a big heart and a lot of character; she adores her foster's bed but is also happy to snuggle in her own doggie bed. She's a clever girl who likes to hide her nightly treats under her foster's pillow, leading to a fun morning "treasure hunt"! She gets along well with other rescue dogs and seems to be quite proficient with house and leash training. Canela is a people-lover through and through and truly enjoys the company of humans. She's quite the couch potato and would blossom in a home where she can enjoy leisurely walks and some gentle exercise.

Ideal Home

Canela would thrive in a home with experienced dog owners. Due to her small size and energy levels, homes with children under 8 years old are not suitable for her.

Ongoing Health

Canela has been treated for heartworms according to AHS protocols and is currently on monthly preventative medication. We expect her to test negative in about 4 to 6 months.

Training & Support

Canela is described as being pretty well house and leash trained. She's a smart cookie who enjoys a good treat and is eager to please her people.
