Meet Knight! He's a stunning 50-pound Aussie mix with the most beautiful mismatched eyes, a wonderfully sweet soul, and a resilience that makes him even more special. This handsome boy is a tripod, but that doesn't slow him down one bit – he loves to play and enjoy life to the fullest!

Knight can be a bit shy when meeting new people, particularly men, but he warms up quickly once he feels safe. He's also a little sensitive about his head and neck being touched initially, so he needs patient humans who understand that building trust is key before reaching for his collar or leash. The good news? He doesn't take long to settle in and just needs a little time to realize that new people, places, and experiences aren't so scary.

Once he's comfortable, Knight transforms into an incredibly sweet and friendly boy who genuinely loves being around his people. He has a playful spirit and a sharp mind, though the stress of shelter life has made it a bit harder for him to fully express his personality right now. He shows interest in other dogs and seems eager to play, but sometimes backs off when engaged. We suspect he truly enjoys canine companionship and is just decompressing. For this reason, he would do best with a gentle, respectful dog friend who won't play too rough but can offer friendship and confidence.

Because Knight is a tripod, his ideal home will set him up for long-term success. A physically fenced yard is important so he can move around safely, and a one-level home would be ideal to make everyday life easier on his body. While he doesn't need an extremely active lifestyle, Knight does require daily physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep both his body and busy mind happy. He's a smart boy who loves having things to do and thrives when given outlets for play and enrichment.

With cats, Knight shows only mild interest, mostly sniffing and observing without much follow-through, so dog-savvy or independent cats would likely be the best fit. He can also do well with children, though older, respectful kids are recommended so he can adjust at his own pace without feeling overwhelmed. A calm child or another gentle dog who can engage him in playful moments would likely help him continue building confidence.
