Cowboy

Cowboy is a brave survivor, estimated to be around 2 years old, who has endured immense hardship. He was found abandoned and tied to a pole, suffering from severe lacerations and the lingering evidence of past abuse as a bait dog. Despite his terrifying experiences, Cowboy is now safe and receiving the medical care he needs. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and has begun treatment for heartworm.

Ideal Home

Cowboy may do best as an only dog, as he can be cautious with other dogs due to his past trauma. He also takes time to warm up to men, understandably so, given his history. A home where he can feel safe and secure, with patient and understanding individuals, would be ideal.

Ongoing Health

Cowboy is heartworm positive but has already begun treatment and is on the path to recovery.

Training & Support

Cowboy will need patience and understanding as he continues to heal from his past. Building trust, especially with men, will be important. Providing a consistent and safe environment will help him to continue to thrive.
