Meet Tucan - Playful, Smart & Ready for His Forever Home!
Tucan was found abandoned outside a hotel, wearing a rusty choke chain and waiting for help that never came. Despite his rough start, Tucan is now healthy, joyful, and incredibly eager to find a loving, committed adopter. He's a big, strong dog with a high play drive and a playful, puppy-like spirit. Tucan is also extremely smart and thrives with structure and mental stimulation. He enjoys engaging with people and building strong bonds with his human, and once his energy is channeled, he's happy to settle down for affection and downtime.
Ideal Home
Tucan would be a great match for someone who loves to play, hike, walk, and share adventures. He needs an active handler who understands how to work with energetic dogs. Due to his dislike of small, enclosed spaces, he would do best on acreage, a farm, or a ranch. Tucan is not recommended for homes with small or young children.

Training & Support
Tucan is not recommended for first-time dog owners or those without prior training experience, unless they are strongly committed to learning. He needs an owner who will meet his physical and mental needs, providing him with the guidance and leadership he looks for. He has experience living with many dogs of different sizes and breeds and does well in those environments.

Transporation
Our rescue is located near Bucerias, Mexico. Approved adopters will be matched with flight companions traveling from Puerto Vallarta. You will meet your new pup at the airport. During the summer months, dogs may need to fly into the US and be picked up at Peace Arch Park at the border if a Canadian flight companion is unavailable.
