Rum is a gorgeous approximately 1-year-old mix weighing about 35 lbs. While we don't know her exact breed, we believe she could be a mix of pointer, heeler, beagle, and maybe dalmatian. Rum was found with her sister, Tequila, when they were just 8 weeks old behind a liquor store. The clerk had made a small shelter out of liquor boxes for them, which is how they got their names. Rum is more active and playful than her sister and would be best suited for a more active home. She is sweet, friendly, loving, playful, gentle, and kind. She loves all animals and people she meets and is super smart.
Ideal Home
Rum would thrive in an active home. She loves children of all ages and would be fantastic in a home with them. Rum also loves other dogs and would do well in a home with or without them. She has met dogs of all sizes with no issues. She has also been introduced to cats and ignores them, showing no prey drive, so she could live happily with cats with proper introductions.
Ongoing Health
Rum is spayed, heartworm negative, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, microchipped, and current on dewormer. She will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport.
Training & Support
Rum is crate trained and house trained. She knows how to walk on a leash and does well on it. She also rides in the car with no issues and would be a great adventure buddy!

Transporation
Rum is currently located in Texas. We adopt animals to the Central US and the East Coast. The adoption fee of $525 includes transport from Texas to the following locations every 2-3 weeks: Albany and Latham, NY; Wells and Brattleboro, VT; Willington, Enfield, New Haven, and Dayville, CT; Port Chester, NY; Dayton and Akron, OH; Grove City and Bloomsburg, PA; Ridgefield and Mt Laurel, NJ; White Marsh/Elkton, MD; and Falls Church, VA.
