About Chance

Meet Chance!

Chance is a seven-year-old Labrador Retriever/Rottweiler mix, weighing around 95 pounds, with a beautiful dark brown and tan coat. He has a calm and laid-back presence that makes every day feel more peaceful. He's a gentle guardian of both the backyard and the couch, a loving companion who thrives in a family environment and does well with children. Chance truly loves being near his people, whether he's resting at your feet, supervising dinner preparations, or snoring softly in his crate.

Ideal Home

Chance would thrive in a home that can offer companionship, structure, and a cozy indoor sleeping space.

Ongoing Health

Chance has recently begun thyroid medication, which has led to wonderful improvements in his energy, playfulness, and overall engagement. His coat is also improving, with hair growing back on his tail, indicating the treatment is helping him feel his best. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and has transferable pet insurance.

Training & Support

Chance is house-trained and politely lets you know when he needs to go outside. He settles very well when left alone. He benefits from clear boundaries and structured routines, especially around food. He enjoys relaxed daily walks and long 'sniffaris.' He does beautifully both on and off leash with familiar dogs and is compatible with other dogs and cats. He knows an impressive list of commands, including sit, stay, down, come, roll over, shake, go lay down, walk fast, and “time for bed.” He is not a frequent barker, though he will offer a big alert if someone approaches.
