Some dogs burst into your life with noise and excitement. Sarge came quietly — with heavy paws, soulful eyes, and a heart that had already endured more than it ever should have. At around 6 years old, Sarge found himself scheduled to be euthanized, not because he was aggressive or unlovable, but because he was big, overlooked, and ran out of time. We couldn’t let that happen to this wonderful boy.
Sarge is a Bull Mastiff who carries a powerful presence, yet everything about him is gentle. He is calm, affectionate, and deeply loyal — the kind of dog who leans into you, believing he belongs there. Despite his size, he truly thinks he’s a lapdog, and honestly… he carries that dream with conviction. He doesn’t ask for much, just kindness, a soft place to land, and someone who won’t give up on him — ever again.
Sarge is past the chaos of puppyhood and fully settled into who he’s meant to be: a steady, loving companion who soaks up affection as if trying to store it for later. And when happiness gets the best of him, he still gets the zoomies — clumsy, joyful reminders that there’s a big, goofy puppy living inside that massive body.
