Meet Neptune, the canine embodiment of the Roman god of the sea - full of energy and always making waves! This energetic pup is as trainable as they come, eager to learn and impress, making him a great candidate for adopters that love training or want a dog that will train. He's already mastered sit, down, stay, come, off, up, and "go potty," and is currently working on heel. All Neptune wants to do is train, walk, play, and be your best friend, joining you even in the bathroom! He loves playing with dogs of all kinds and is great with children, babies, and all other humans. Whether he's splashing in the water like his namesake or cuddling up for some quality time, this lovable companion brings a tidal wave of joy and excitement wherever he goes! Neptune is truly special and sensitive, in tune with his people's feelings and looking to you for guidance. He craves love and human interaction, is a sucker for cuddles, and would love to share your lap or even your bed. He forms deep bonds and is incredibly loyal and trusting once he considers you his person. Neptune is also highly intelligent and learns quickly. He was working on advanced tricks and the relaxation protocol, and with a day full of physical and mental enrichment, he settles nicely into his crate without a peep. He's highly food-motivated, which helps with training.
Ideal Home
Neptune needs someone who is patient, active, and wants to understand him. After sufficient exercise and mental enrichment, he settles well. He has done well with playful dogs and dog-savvy cats. He also enjoys the company of children who are comfortable around big dogs.

Training & Support
Neptune has struggled with separation anxiety and mouthiness, particularly during times of transition, high excitement, or overstimulation. A patient home that will help him decompress and manage these interactions is key. With consistent training and structure around exercise and daily activity, he does very well.
