Hi, I’m Nicot! I’m a handsome 2-year-old black and tan Shepherd mix with so much potential, just waiting for the right person to help me blossom. My journey started rough; I was found as a severely malnourished stray, and while I’m much healthier now, the fear from those early months lingers. I’m naturally shy and spook easily around new people, and trust is something I build slowly. My comfort zone is definitely with other dogs! I get along well with cats, too.
Ideal Home
I thrive in a home with at least one stable, confident dog who can be my mentor and help me feel more secure. Because I scare easily, I cannot live with small children. Older, dog-savvy teens who understand my need for space might be okay, but little kids are simply too unpredictable for me. I'm also a flight risk, so a home that understands containment and slow introductions is essential.
Ongoing Health
I'm neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative.
Training & Support
I'm not comfortable on a leash and new environments overwhelm me. I need someone who understands decompression and gradual introductions. I will crate well at night, and with gentle patience, I'll even take treats from your hand. I'm a working-minded dog who needs a job, structure, and real mental engagement – walks alone won't cut it. Without proper stimulation, I can become extremely destructive.
