Meet Jasper!
Jasper is a soulful three-and-a-half-year-old Border Collie/Rottweiler mix with a calm, loving heart and a stunning 70-pound merle coat. He's the kind of dog who will melt into your side on a cozy evening and follow you room to room just to be close. Jasper thrives in peaceful surroundings and forms deep, meaningful bonds with his people. He does well around children and enjoys their company, but he would do best with calm or older kids who understand boundaries and know how to treat him gently. Loud or high-energy play can make him uneasy, so a respectful home environment will help him feel safe and content. He's a mellow guy who doesn't need much to be happy: a soft spot to relax, the comforting presence of his caregiver, and maybe a treat puzzle or two to keep his brain engaged. Food-motivated and clever, Jasper knows a delightful list of commands like sit, stay, paw, spin, and even middle.

He is happiest in a home with a fenced-in yard and a caregiver who values companionship, consistency, and quiet.

Training & Support
Jasper is fully house-trained and crate-trained. While he doesn't require intense exercise, he does enjoy slow, sniffy walks. Jasper has developed a strong reactivity to dogs he doesn't know, which may present as barking or lunging, especially near fences or in close proximity. He continues to work through this with training and patient support. He has done well with familiar dogs in controlled settings. Loud noises can startle him, but with reassurance, he settles easily.
