Meet William, a magnificent 5-year-old, 85-pound gentle giant who embodies the best of both Great Pyrenees and Anatolian Shepherd breeds. William is a true people-lover, always ready for a good lean and a shower of pets. If affection were an Olympic sport, he'd undoubtedly bring home the gold!
Ideal Home
William thrives as the sole canine companion in his home, as he prefers to be the only dog receiving your undivided attention. While he enjoys the company of other dogs at the dog park, he needs to be the only dog at home. He also needs a cat-free environment. Due to his protective instincts and the joy he finds in guarding, William is best suited for a home without children or teenagers. He's not a threat to kids, but he tends to worry about them, especially when they have friends over, as he tries to assess their safety. An experienced owner with knowledge of flock guardian breeds is essential. A securely fenced yard is a must, as William loves to patrol his territory and will roam if not contained.
Ongoing Health
William is a healthy boy with no current health concerns mentioned.
Training & Support
William is a loyal guardian breed who needs an owner who understands his instincts. His desire to patrol and "guard" his perceived territory is strong, hence the need for a secure fence. While he loves being outdoors, his greatest joy comes from being close to his people.
