Meet Frankie, a gentle soul with a big heart who's ready for his second chance! This 2.5-year-old, 70-pound neutered male American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull mix was found tied up with his sister, Precious, after being left behind by family. He's a quiet, tender-hearted pup who may seem shy at first, but once he feels safe, his sweet and affectionate personality shines through. He's not demanding of attention but quietly seeks comfort by simply being near someone he trusts. Frankie enjoys the company of other dogs and would likely thrive with a calm canine companion. With patience, love, and time, he'll blossom into a loyal, affectionate companion.
Ideal Home
Frankie would do best in a patient and understanding home that can help him continue to build confidence. A quieter household with a predictable routine will help him feel secure. He has not met cats or children, but his foster believes he would do well in a calm home with older kids who understand how to respect his boundaries. A securely fenced yard is ideal for him, and his forever home will need secure fencing that he cannot escape from, as he is an escape artist.
Ongoing Health
Frankie is neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations. No ongoing health conditions are noted.
Training & Support
Frankie is doing beautifully with house training and has had no accidents indoors. He is also fine when left alone with free reign of a room. He is still a bit nervous on leash and will freeze, so he'll need continued positive reinforcement for walks. He is learning to wait his turn for treats and already understands simple cues like "no" and "food."
