Pierre

Pierre is the happiest boy, and he truly doesn't know he's any different from the other dogs! He is a super friendly pup who absolutely LOVES to play with toys, people of all ages, and other dogs. Pierre is waiting for his perfect family to bring him home and share his joy.

Pierre was born with a nerve/spinal deformity that causes his back leg to drag. While this doesn't greatly affect his mobility – he's a fast boy! – he does deal with incontinence due to his spinal deformity. He may require occasional assistance to urinate and regular clean-up for accidents. Because of this, an adopter would need to be able to keep up with cleanliness, as he may need daily baths, and possess patience and acceptance of these special needs.

Ideal Home

Pierre thrives on play and companionship. He loves people and other dogs, so a home where he can socialize would be wonderful.

Ongoing Health

Pierre has a nerve/spinal deformity similar to spina bifida, which affects his back leg and causes incontinence. He may require occasional assistance with urination and regular clean-up for accidents. Daily baths may be necessary.

Training & Support

Pierre is food possessive, so he will need to be fed in a crate or separate from other dogs during feeding times. He currently uses a slow feeder to prevent him from eating too quickly. Patience and a consistent approach to his special needs will help him continue to be a happy, well-adjusted dog.
