Meet Harrison!
Harrison is a dignified and loving eight-year-old Vizsla with a beautiful golden rust coat. He's a playful companion who thrives on human connection, adores chasing balls, exploring the outdoors, and enjoying a good run. At 62 pounds, he's a large but gentle soul who is happiest when he's part of a family's daily life. He has mastered commands like sit, paw, come, and no, thanks to his formal obedience training. His favorite activities include backyard games of fetch, chewing on durable rubber toys, daily walks, and naps in a cozy bed. Harrison enjoys a steady routine of exercise and mental engagement, including his cherished two-mile walks several times a week.
Ideal Home
Harrison would do best in a home where he can be the center of attention. He needs a loving, patient family who understands his quirks and can provide him with a safe and secure environment. He would do best in a home with no small children, as their unpredictable movements and energy can overwhelm him. He is not compatible with cats.
Ongoing Health
Harrison is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped.
Training & Support
Harrison is house-trained and crate-trained. He is a dog who needs a little extra understanding. He feels uneasy in tight spaces or around large objects like boxes, and in moments of high stress, he has bitten when he felt cornered or overwhelmed. These reactions stem from fear and discomfort rather than malice. He simply needs a caregiver who recognizes his triggers, provides him with space, and reassures him. To ensure Harrison has a great start with his new family, a canine behaviorist is available for a free consultation.
