Megan Rapinoe

Hey there! My name is Megan, named after the amazingly cool Megan Rapinoe! My foster momma says it’s quite fitting because there’s a ton of cool stuff about me. So, how about I tell you some of it! First of all, I'm unique in all kinds of beautiful ways, from my multi-color coat to my ocean blue island-colored eyes. My foster momma says anyone who looks at me just falls in love. However, there is so much more to love about me, including my love of the outdoors and walking, my infectious curiosity, and my enthusiasm to learn. The best thing about my enthusiasm to learn is that I do it a little differently because of another unique thing about me – I'm deaf! Although I don't learn by hearing, I still learn by seeing and using my rockstar sniffer. My foster momma's neighbors have been blown away with how attentive I can be when I'm locked in and focused. Other things about me are that I love a schedule and I'm doing very well with my routine. I haven't had any accidents in the house and I know that the outdoors is my outhouse. Pottying outside isn't always my favorite because I absolutely hate to be cold, but I always get the job done! Right now, I'm learning to respond when my foster momma signs my name, "sit," "good job," and "no" (and I don't get this sign a lot, but I'm still learning my bed isn't a toy, hehe). I also love to play and be held! For the most part, I've adjusted to my kennel and do a good job sleeping through the night. I may whine here and there, but then I'm right back to sleep. I don't bark much, but when I do, it's only because I'm trying to understand where you're going. I haven't had time around cats or children, but I'm super sweet and chill, so it should be a great time if I have the opportunity. The few times I've interacted with my neighbor dog pals through the fence, I did a pretty great job. Training me will be really important, but I love to learn, so it'll be a fun time for all of us, especially with the right resources. I'm ready to find my forever home! Ideal Home

I am a super sweet and chill girl who should do well in a home with cats and children, but I haven't had the opportunity to meet them yet. I would prefer a home that understands that training me will be important, but also fun!

Training & Support

I am learning to respond to hand signals for "my name," "sit," "good job," and "no." I am still learning that my bed is not a toy. I do well with my potty routine and use the outdoors as my outhouse, though I dislike being cold. I may whine a little when adjusting to my kennel at night, but I settle down quickly.
