My name is Gilly, and I'm a 2-year-and-5-month-old, 96-pound bundle of affection! I'm a Great Pyrenees mix with a heart as big as my paws. I love nothing more than to snuggle up with my favorite people, resting my head on your chest or even trying to fit in your lap for some extra cuddles! My favorite morning ritual involves gentle kisses and a curious sniff to see if you've had any tasty treats. I'm a smart and well-mannered girl who enjoys learning new things and has completed a board-and-train course, knowing commands like "sit," "place," and "paw." I'm also potty-trained and can hold it for a standard workday. I don't need a crate as I'm not destructive and am generally quiet, only barking when someone is at the door or if other dogs are barking nearby. I'm happy to sleep in my own bed or yours, and I'm very patient when it comes to paw and belly wiping on muddy days. I absolutely love going for leashed walks, and while I might pull a bit initially in new places due to my excitement to sniff everything, I promise our subsequent walks will be wonderful! I'm great with people, bicycles, strollers, and children, though I do need a gentle reminder to stop pulling towards cars or barking dogs. I enjoy playing with my toys, especially tug-of-rope, and I'm a fantastic car rider, always ready for an adventure.
Ideal Home
I'd love a home where I can be your one and only dog. I'm great with kids aged 8 and up, but due to my size, I shouldn't live with younger children who might accidentally get knocked over. A fenced yard would be a big plus, as I love to run around freely.
Ongoing Health
I'm in great health, spayed, up-to-date on all my shots, and currently on heartworm, flea, and tick prevention.
Training & Support
I've completed a board-and-train program and know basic commands. While I walk well on a leash, I might pull initially in new environments or around other dogs. Using a no-pull harness can be very helpful. I may need some gentle guidance in slowly meeting other calm dogs outside the home, but I do not do well with female dogs in the home. Dog parks would be too stressful for me.
