Meet Akira!
Have you ever seen a cuter face in your life?! We didn’t think so. This sweet girl was saved off the euthanasia list with only minutes to spare. She has been waiting patiently for nearly nine months for her forever home and hasn’t received a single adoption application. Honestly, we can’t understand why. Akira is a 5.5-year-old spayed female Staffordshire mix, weighing around 60lbs. She is fully crate-trained and knows her basic commands. This girl has the sweetest puppy eyes and wants nothing more than a person of her own that will lounge and snuggle with her. She’s a big love bug who thinks she’s a tiny lap dog. During the day you can find her snoozing on a comfy dog bed until it’s time to go for a walk. She listens and follows commands well and takes treats incredibly gently. To keep occupied she chews on bones or throws her stuffed toys from the bed and jumps down to get them.
Ideal Home
Akira adores people and enjoys hanging out with calm, submissive pups. She would be okay as the only dog in her new home as her true dream is to be your one and only; the apple of your eye.
Ongoing Health
We are taking our best guess and recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time.

Application Details:
- Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
- If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time.
- We are a volunteer-run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. If you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply.
- If someone other than yourself is part of the decision-making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board.
Transporation
Akira is in foster care in Houston, TX and can be transported out of state once an approved adopter is lined up. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved.
