JOSIE

Meet Josie, a sweet 3-year-old, 35lb pittie mix who has been overlooked for far too long. Sadly, Josie is a victim of "black dog syndrome" and the stigma sometimes associated with bully breeds, but she truly is a gem. She came to us in September of 2025 and has been patiently waiting for her chance to shine. Josie is a lively, loving, loyal, and fun-loving companion who is eager to be your adventure buddy and cuddle bug all in one!

Ideal Home

Josie would thrive in a home where she can be the only pet, as she needs to be an only pet. She is looking for active humans who also appreciate quiet couch time. Children 13 and older would be a great fit, as Josie greets with enthusiasm and we want to ensure she doesn't accidentally knock over smaller children. A fenced yard is preferred, though a home in an apartment may be considered if there is a solid plan for exercise and stimulation.

Josie is spayed and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Josie is housebroken and crate trained. She knows "sit" and "crate" very well and is currently working on "drop it," "give," "leave it," and "come." She is an excellent walking buddy but will benefit from continued leash and command work. Josie needs a little refinement on her greeting style, as she can get excited and jump, so continued positive reinforcement for this will be key.
