Bartholomew is a charming young dog, around 1 year old and weighing about 25 pounds. He was rescued from a hoarding situation and has shown himself to be a devoted and protective father to his puppies. Bartholomew is a sweet, snuggly, and playful boy who is growing more relaxed and curious each day. He enjoys cuddling and being close to his people, and his confidence continues to bloom. He's a bit of a project, but he's a wonderful dog who deserves a loving home.
Ideal Home
Bartholomew would do best in an adult-only or older teen home, as younger children might make him too nervous. He would also thrive with a patient, resident dog who can help him learn how to "dog" better. A home with a secured backyard would be ideal, as it will help him avoid overstimulation from navigating busy environments.
Ongoing Health
Bartholomew will be neutered and up-to-date on all vaccinations and medical care prior to adoption.
Training & Support
Bartholomew is a bit of a project dog and will need an adopter committed to professional training to help him catch up on socialization he missed as a puppy. He is currently exhibiting some separation anxiety, which is being managed with short training periods. He can be wary of new people and situations but warms up with patience, kind voices, and tasty treats. He is not cat-tested but may be fine with a dog-savvy cat. Regular grooming will be an ongoing expense.
