Kiara is a calm and gentle soul who finds happiness in being held or quietly enjoying her favorite chew toy in her own little corner. She's the perfect companion for a relaxed home looking for a sweet best friend. She was born on January 8, 2026, and is a Husky mix weighing between 10-15 lbs. Kiara is currently working on her house training and crate training. She has bursts of high "puppy" energy followed by much-needed naps. She enjoys being handled and touched, and while her flight risk is unknown, it's always best to treat all dogs as a potential flight risk until they are bonded with their new families. Kiara is not food aggressive and does not exhibit leash reactivity towards people or other dogs. As a puppy, she will chew, especially when teething, so she'll need redirection and appropriate chew toys. Kiara's mother, Nova, was found outside in freezing temperatures in Manitoba, but thankfully, Kiara and her siblings were rescued and are now receiving the warm, loving start they deserve. They are learning what it means to be safe, warm, and loved, and will benefit greatly from continued socialization, gentle handling, and positive experiences as they grow into confident, well-rounded dogs. Like all puppies, Kiara will need an adopter who is ready for the time, patience, and commitment involved in raising a dog from puppyhood, including training, routines, and lots of love. In return, she will offer a lifetime of companionship and the joy of watching a life you helped save grow and thrive.
Ideal Home
Kiara would thrive in a relaxed home with a yard. She has had no exposure to children or cats, so her new family will need to consider this. She does not require a home with another dog.
Ongoing Health
Kiara is currently taking phenobarbital for seizures and will need a follow-up appointment with a neurologist, which will be booked shortly.
Training & Support
Kiara is still learning to be house trained and crate trained. As a puppy, she will chew, especially when teething, and will need redirection and safe chew toys. She will benefit from continued socialization, gentle handling, and positive experiences.
