Harley

Harley is a sweet 7-year-old, 6 lb. girl who came to us because her mom was moving and her medical issues were becoming too much. Harley has significant skin issues and itching, and she occasionally throws up. Her skin issues have caused some darkening around her eyes, all over her backend, and on her back ankles. Because of her itching, she needs to wear a cone occasionally to prevent her from scratching until she bleeds. She is opening up more and more each day, and her personality is really starting to shine through. She can be quite vocal when her meals aren't prepared fast enough or when strangers approach if another dog barks at them. Harley loves car rides and does great in her console car seat. She also enjoys lounging in the sun, much like her foster sister Harper.

Ideal Home

Harley would likely do well in a home where she can relax and enjoy the sunshine.

Ongoing Health

Harley is currently being treated for a resistant staph infection with an antibiotic that may cause GI issues, though it has been managed well so far. She also has allergies to grasses, trees, mold, dust mites, and storage mites. We are trying allergy drops under the tongue, which can take 1-2 years to show results. She was previously experiencing vomiting, but medication has helped, and it's suspected she may have GERD. She requires a cone occasionally to prevent self-trauma from itching.

Training & Support

Harley can be vocal when she wants something or in response to other dogs barking at strangers. She is patient with baths.
