Ruger is a stunning 7-year-old black and tan European Doberman with a heart as big as his presence. He's a devoted and affectionate love bug who craves being by your side, a true "Velcro" dog. Ruger walks beautifully on a leash with his harness and is fully trained, showing he's smart and eager to learn. He rides well in the car and enjoys a good pup cup! He is completely potty trained and waits patiently to go outside. Ruger is a gentle giant, weighing about 90lbs, and is looking for a special forever foster home.

Ideal Home

Ruger would do best in an adult-only home with a low-traffic environment. He needs a home where he can be the only pet, as smaller dogs can trigger his prey drive due to his enthusiastic play style, which can be too rough for them. While he likes kids, he would be happiest in a home without them.

Ongoing Health

Ruger is a ward of the rescue. While he is a healthy boy, all his ongoing medical and behavioral needs will be supported by the rescue.

Training & Support

Ruger is fully trained on leash and off-leash, responding beautifully with focus and reliability. He is also collar-trained. He is housebroken, doesn't engage in destructive behavior, and can be trusted to roam freely indoors. He remains calm and non-reactive on a leash. His one weakness is fireworks; he seeks comfort from his handler when they occur.
