Hi, I'm Nora! I'm an approximately 6-year-old, 31 lb bundle of joy looking for my forever family. I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and after a bit of a rough start, I'm ready for a life filled with love and happiness. My tail had to be amputated due to pain from happy tail, but that's all behind me now! I also came to the shelter heartworm positive, but thankfully, I've completed my treatment and am now in my recovery period. I even participated in the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training program and learned so much!
Ideal Home
I'm a smart, curious, and attention-loving people-dog who is playful and happy. While I can be a little vocal in a busy shelter, I'm calm and easygoing in a comfortable environment with a consistent routine. I'm ready to be a great companion! I do have a little bit of "stranger danger" when I see people wearing dark clothing, but I never show aggression. I've met other dogs and was talkative but not aggressive, so a meet-and-greet with your resident dog would be great! I haven't met cats or children yet, so it's best if I go to a home without very young toddlers, as I might accidentally bump them.
Ongoing Health
I am spayed, micro-chipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. My tail amputation is complete and I'm no longer in pain. I have successfully completed heartworm treatment and am in my recovery period, which will conclude in mid-late July. I will need a heartworm re-check in mid-December, so a local adoption is preferred. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, and my new family should consult with their veterinarian about a dental cleaning in the future.
Training & Support
I'm a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups program and have mastered commands like 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'come', 'drop it', 'leave it', and 'place'. I also have excellent door and leash manners and greet strangers politely without jumping. Mostly Mutts offers free lifetime training classes for all adopted dogs, and I'd love to continue learning with you! My crate manners were good, and I actually prefer sleeping outside of the crate overnight. My potty habits were also good during training.
