Meet Dani!
Dani is a devoted four-year-old American Pitbull Terrier/Labrador Retriever mix, weighing 52 pounds, with a sleek black coat and bright white accents. She carries herself with quiet strength and an even bigger heart. Dani’s early life on the streets of Baton Rouge presented her with medical challenges, but with attentive care, she blossomed into the deeply bonded, affectionate companion she is today. Her spirit is full of warmth and loyalty, and her small paw scars are gentle reminders of her past.
Dani is extraordinarily loving with her people. She’s a bed sleeper who curls up close, sometimes making soft "purring" sounds when content. She forms deep emotional bonds and loves to be near her family, following them from room to room. Dani is wonderfully intuitive and offers comfort with soft licks when she senses sadness. She enjoys tugging ropes and peaceful walks, and she knows commands like sit, stay, wait, and come. Having worked extensively with a humane trainer using positive reinforcement, she thrives with structure and clear guidance. She is house-trained, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. She is also respectful in the home and does not engage in destructive behaviors.
Ideal Home
Dani needs to be the only pet in her home due to fear-based reactivity toward other dogs. She would benefit from an experienced, confident pet parent who can maintain routine and provide a calm, caring environment, ideally with a fenced yard in a quieter setting. She can be wary of new men at first but warms up with thoughtful introductions.
Ongoing Health
Dani has fully recovered from her early medical challenges.
Training & Support
Dani thrives with structure and clear guidance. She is house-trained and respectful in the home. She may bark at unexpected visitors or service calls if introductions are rushed, so she benefits from thoughtful introductions to new people.
