Theodore

Meet Theo, a sweetheart of a beagle who is affectionate, gentle, and incredibly food-motivated. He thrives on love and companionship, always wanting to be close to his people, whether he's soaking up the sun, napping, or enjoying belly scratches. Watching his confidence grow during his time in foster care has been a rewarding experience.

Ideal Home

Theo gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has been great with children. He enjoys playing fetch, loves crinkly toys, and often has a burst of playful energy after meals, going potty, and especially around 7:00 p.m. He loves to explore the world with his nose on walks, taking his time to sniff everything.

Ongoing Health

Theo occasionally reverse sneezes, but a simple nostril plug technique usually helps. He can be a little nervous at the vet but is generally comfortable being handled.

Training & Support

Theo is nearly fully potty trained with an excellent success rate, provided he gets a final potty break before bedtime. He knows "sit," especially for treats, and is learning to "wait" during mealtimes. He eats quickly, so a slow feeder might be helpful. He enjoys jumping on furniture and has recently discovered chewing and digging, but is happiest when redirected to an appropriate toy. Theo experiences some separation anxiety and doesn't enjoy being left alone for long.
