About Ellie - HAB
Ellie is a beautiful girl inside and out with a lot of love to give her forever family! Since coming to live with her foster mom, Ellie has really come out of her shell. She is a curious girl who loves to explore, and she is very well-behaved and fully house-trained. Ellie would be in heaven if she could sit on her foster mom's lap all day, and with a blanket, she'll never leave your side! She absolutely adores humans!
Ellie was rescued with a broken foot and was in rough shape. Because of this, she is a little protective of her foot but has healed completely and now lets her foster mom rub it and apply oil to keep her paws soft. She loves to run, jump, and zoomie in the yard, and she even enjoys the snow! The only sign of her past injury is a little stiffness at night. Ellie is a smart cookie and knows commands like sit, kennel, stay, wait, no, and shake!
Ellie is working on her interactions with other dogs. She can get a little anxious and bark when walking if she sees other dogs, but with guidance and treats, she can be redirected. If she's having a particularly difficult time, she and her foster mom will turn around to decompress. Ellie loves her walks and hopes her new home will continue to work with her so she can keep enjoying the world with her people! After walks, she enjoys watching the world from the window or sleeping in her comfy bed.
Ellie has not lived with children, but her foster mom thinks she would do well with older children. She is good in her kennel when she knows her humans are nearby, though she does get a little anxious when left alone. Her foster mom is working on crate training to help Ellie feel safe. This adjustment will take some time in her new home, but her foster mom assures us Ellie is worth it because she truly is the best girl! Ellie is excited to meet her forever family and is eager to find a home that can give her a little extra attention when dealing with other dogs and being alone. The progress she has made is wonderful, and she is very loyal to her humans, constantly wagging her tail and smiling. Her favorite time of day is curling up under a blanket for a snooze with her people. It doesn't take much to keep her happy, and she can't wait to meet you!
Ideal Home
Ellie would love a home where she can continue to get lots of love and attention. While she is doing well with training, continued patience and guidance with her interactions with other dogs on walks would be beneficial.
Ongoing Health
Ellie has made a full recovery from her broken foot, though she may experience some stiffness at night.
Training & Support
Ellie is working on her reactions to other dogs on walks and can become anxious. She also needs continued support with being left alone.
