She has experience living and playing with smaller dogs (around 17 lbs) and is a social butterfly who loves to lick her foster siblings' faces hello. She's a smart cookie who picks up on house rules quickly, scales down her play to be gentle with smaller dogs, and is a master of the "play bow." Poppy is a dream on a walk and a proud member of the loose leash club, never pulling and always enjoying the sights. She is a pro at keeping her space clean and follows household routines perfectly. Incredibly smart, perfectly gentle, and always ready for the next ride, she is a loving explorer at heart, ready to navigate a new hiking trail or scout out the best local coffee shop patio with you by her side. We suspect Poppy is a Belgian Malinois mix, weighing in at a sleek 45 pounds. She is a vocal girl who loves to chat and invite friends to join the party.

Ideal Home

Poppy is looking for a feline-free home where she can focus on her human friends or canine buddies. She would be happiest in a home with a medium energy dog who can keep up with her fun-loving wrestling matches but also knows when it's time to take a collective nap. The ideal home for Poppy matches her zest for life, with an active adopter who enjoys training or outdoor adventures. She would adore a house with a yard to zoom in, but she could also be a rockstar apartment dog for an active person who treats the city as their playground.

Ongoing Health

All vetting is up-to-date, including DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, and a 12-month heartworm preventative injection. She has also had a heartworm test.

Training & Support

Poppy is crate trained and house-trained with no accidents. She is a pro at following household routines and is a master of the loose leash walk. She is incredibly smart and picks up on house rules quickly.

Poppy is located in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue-run USDA-certified transport system, ensuring every pet travels safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Our transport includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada. You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time, see photo updates, learn fun facts, and connect with fellow adopters and fosters through our private Facebook event page. For Canadian adopters, pick-up is in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
