Ellie

Ellie is a tender-hearted, sweet, and confident 1 year 10-month-old yellow lab who weighs 62lbs. She has been with her family since she was a puppy, and while she's enjoyed the company of her four-legged siblings, recent tension in the pack has led her family to make the difficult decision to rehome her. Ellie is adaptable and easy-going, happy to join you on a road trip or for a simple walk downtown. Her greatest loves are people and car rides; she's even content to nap while you drive. She's a natural at being a welcoming committee, and her big heart has so much love to give. Ellie is independent and would prefer to be the only dog in the home, enjoying more one-on-one time and devotion from her people. She has no separation anxiety and can be left home alone without issue. Travel doesn't faze her, and she's eager to please, knowing many commands and tricks without needing treats. Ellie is familiar with loud farm equipment and has a fabulous water entry, making her a great candidate for swimming, hunting, or sports. Some of her charming quirks include selecting your smelliest shoe for a nap (a sign of her affection!), giving bottomless kisses, and her tendency to fetch the ball and then keep it.

Ideal Home

Ellie would thrive with an active family that includes her in everyday life. A home with a securely fenced yard, regular exercise, and plenty of opportunities for adventures, especially anywhere she can swim, would be ideal. She'd be best in a family that does not leave her home for long periods of time and can provide her the attention she deserves. She can be jumpy and occasionally mouthy when excited, so a home with older children would be the best fit. She also likes to chase cats.

Ongoing Health

Ellie is spayed, up to date on rabies, and will be getting her DA2PP booster soon. She is microchipped and heartworm negative.

Training & Support

Ellie is a strong dog and will benefit from continued leash training, as she tends to pull on walks.
