Sadie is a comical, quirky, and spunky girl with sweet southern charm! She came to us from a neglect case in rural Kentucky, where she and other dogs were found abandoned and starving. Thankfully, Sadie is now safe and ready to find her forever home! She's about 8.5 years old and weighs around 41 lbs. Sadie loves to curl up in a cozy blanket on your bed or in her own dog bed. She's a big fan of bully sticks and enjoys working on them. Sadie is well-behaved in the house, housebroken, and generally quiet, though she might let out a bark if she sees something interesting outside the window. She's a joy to watch when she's outside, zipping around and exploring with energy! Sadie is a very loving gal who enjoys being petted, pampered, and showered with affection. She's truly one of a kind!
Ideal Home
Sadie needs a home with a 6-foot fence, as she can climb over a 4-foot one. She would do well in a home with other dogs and older children, but a home without cats would be best.
Ongoing Health
Sadie experiences some random incontinence, likely due to her age. She is on Proin medication, half a tablet twice a day, which seems to help her greatly. All animals are fully vetted appropriate for age, including spay/neuter, rabies vaccine, DHPP vaccine, 4DX test (if 8 months or older), microchip with lifetime registration, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and heartworm prevention.
Training & Support
Sadie loves to chase and bark at other dogs, and is also a squirrel enthusiast. While she doesn't harm them, she likes to dominate them to get them to play. She can sometimes need redirection when she's focused on chasing. When she's at the dog park, keeping her on a leash and gently guiding her can help refocus her energy.
