Meet Mighty Jo—our laid-back country boy with a gentle soul, a goofy grin, and a heart that's been waiting far too long for a family to call his own. Mighty Jo is the definition of easygoing. Whether he's strolling down a country road, relaxing on the porch, or stretching out for an afternoon nap, this sweet boy is happiest simply enjoying life's little moments with his people by his side. One of Mighty Jo's favorite things is going for walks. He's a dream on a leash—calm, polite, and always happy to trot right beside you. Of course, no walk is complete without plenty of time to stop and sniff! His nose is always hard at work, taking in every exciting scent along the way. Once he's had his daily adventure, Mighty Jo is more than ready to settle in for some well-earned relaxation. A comfy couch, a favorite toy, or a sunny spot in the yard is all he needs to be perfectly content. He's mastered the art of being a professional couch potato and would love nothing more than to spend quiet evenings curled up with his forever family. Mighty Jo has also done wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys having canine companions around. His calm, friendly personality makes him an easy dog to love. This handsome boy is currently heartworm positive and undergoing slow-kill treatment, but it certainly doesn't define him. He still enjoys life to the fullest and is ready to become someone's loyal best friend while he continues his journey to good health. The hardest part of Mighty Jo's story is that he's been waiting at our rescue for almost three years. Three years of watching other dogs find their families while he patiently waits for his turn. We know his perfect home is out there—it just hasn't found him yet. If you're looking for a loyal companion, a peaceful walking buddy, and a best friend who will be grateful for every day by your side, Mighty Jo is ready to fill that role. All he needs is someone willing to give this sweet country boy the chance he's been waiting so patiently for. Come meet Mighty Jo—you might just discover that the best things in life are the ones worth waiting for.
