Cleo

Cleo is a sweet, approximately 4-year-old, 30 lb. Labrador mix who was rescued in November 2023. She was found injured in the street with a leg fracture. Thankfully, her bone healed well, and while she walks a little crooked, she has no special needs and is a perfectly happy girl who is grateful to be alive! Cleo is loyal, loving, and calm, and she shines with a happy demeanor. She's also well-behaved and enjoys car rides, walks on a leash, and crate training.

Ideal Home

Cleo would thrive in a home that is willing to give a rescued pet at least three months to show their true personality. An active family that enjoys daily walks or hiking would be a great fit. She would love a fenced backyard to explore. Families with an open mind about the unique behaviors of street animals and a background in dog behavior and training are encouraged to apply. Patience and high tolerance are key, as Cleo is still learning and not yet house-trained.

Ongoing Health

Cleo has received a spay/neuter certificate, two DHPPI vaccines, a rabies vaccine, a Bordetella vaccine, and has been dewormed. She has also tested negative for heartworm and received a 4DX test and certificate. She is on monthly preventive protection with Nexgard Spectra for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. A health certificate and vaccination booklet are available.

Training & Support

Cleo is leash and crate trained and good in the car. She is not currently house-trained, and adopters should be prepared for this while she settles in. Patience and understanding are important as she adjusts to a new home.

Transporation

Cleo is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast of the United States on our cross-country trip. Transportation to the adopter's home address is available.
