Sploot is a sweet and playful female Corgi mix, approximately 3 months old and weighing around 8.4 pounds. She's estimated to grow to about 15-20 pounds. Sploot was an owner surrender because she was a bit too "puppy" for the older dog in her previous home, and her family didn't have enough time for her. She's a friendly and social pup who enjoys sleeping in a bed or a kennel, travels well, and walks nicely on a leash. She's also described as being responsive and unfazed by bad weather or fireworks. Sploot gets along with other dogs and is a happy, fun-loving puppy. She's already shown a knack for learning, quickly picking up the "sit" command for treats, as seen in her video.
Ideal Home
Sploot would thrive in a home that can provide her with plenty of playtime and attention. Homes with older children or no children are preferred. She is not suitable for a home with cats, as she has a tendency to chase them. She must be an inside dog and part of the family, never left outside alone. A securely fenced yard with a doggie door is acceptable.
Ongoing Health
No current health issues have been found. Sploot will require a series of vaccinations and ongoing veterinary care. Adopters will be required to sign a contract agreeing to continue the vaccination schedule until the puppy is fully inoculated, with follow-ups by the rescue.
Training & Support
As a puppy, Sploot will naturally exhibit behaviors like crying, chewing, nipping, barking, and potentially digging or scratching, which are typical of the puppy phase. She will need consistent potty training, as puppies have limited bladder control based on their age. Daily structure, training, and socialization will be key to helping her grow into a well-adjusted companion.
