Matilda

Matilda is a beautiful, 62-pound Siberian Husky type girl born on June 25, 2017. She was found as a stray in Itasca, Texas, and spent five months in the city shelter before coming to us. Matilda is a very gentle and affectionate dog who loves sunbathing, snacks, and hanging out with her person or people. She's a quiet and laid-back husky who gets around her surroundings very well, freely roaming her foster home and yard once she's familiar with the layout. Despite her vision impairment, which causes her to be mostly blind but see peripherally, she maintains a happy-go-lucky personality. She occasionally play bows and gets a little excited, but most of the time, she's happy to be at your feet or chewing a bone on her bed. Her appreciation for the good life, including soft beds, cool floors, yummy treats, and tender pets, is very clear. Matilda is spayed, up to date on vaccines and preventions, and travels well in the car.

Ideal Home

Matilda would thrive in a home where she can spend her days lounging and being with her people. Because her interest in cats is a bit too intense, a home without free-roaming cats would be best. Other small animals that are housed/caged would be okay.

Ongoing Health

Matilda is mostly blind but can see peripherally.

Training & Support

Matilda is kennel and house-trained. She is currently fostered with a cat and kept separated by a gate.
