Josie is a sweet and loving companion for the whole family! This 41 lb Staffordshire Terrier mix, born around October 26, 2023, is the perfect cuddle buddy for any occasion. She loves playing with her toys, snuggling with her foster siblings, sunbathing, and chicken nuggets! Josie has been living in a foster home with children and does wonderfully with them.
Josie has delighted her foster family with how seamlessly she has acclimated. She is potty trained, great on the leash, and knows commands such as "sit" and "stay." Being very treat-motivated, she is eager to learn, obey, and be part of any pack. She does wonderfully well with other dogs, especially playful ones. Snuggling up on the couch is one of her favorite activities, and she's quick to catch a snooze there. She is good sleeping on the couch or going for long walks. Although when she's fully rested, her absolute favorite activity is going on car rides, and she gets them often as she's such a perfect car-riding companion.
Josie was rescued from the county shelter, where she was scheduled to be euthanized due to overcrowding. She ended up at the shelter as a neglect case. She was emaciated and clearly had a rough start, but she has come a long way since then. She is still working on gaining a little more weight, but she is ready to find her forever home.

Transportation
Josie is located in Houston, TX. Transportation is included in the adoption fee. Pickup locations of transported dogs may vary, including across city, county, and/or state lines. We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state. These are ground transports using third-party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360, and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.
