Meet Benson!
Benson is a handsome 1 1/2-year-old Bassett Hound mix weighing about 40 pounds, with a heart full of love and a playful spirit. He is incredibly friendly and adores people, always ready to make a new friend wherever he goes. Benson may have cropped ears that were intended to make him look tough and intimidating, but don't let his appearance fool you—he's a total softie at heart. His sweet, affectionate personality shines through the moment you meet him. He has fabulous stubby legs that make him a bit horizontally challenged. One of Benson's most charming qualities is how quiet he is. He rarely barks, except when he's having a great time playing with his canine buddies! He's very dog-friendly and enjoys spending time romping around with other dogs. Benson loves being outdoors, whether he's exploring the yard, playing games, or simply soaking up the sunshine. He's also a smart boy who already knows several commands and tricks, including sit, down, shake, and roll over. Benson is neutered or spayed, microchipped & vaccinated.
Ideal Home
Benson would benefit from being adopted by a dog-loving person who understands he has so much to offer but will need a little time to adjust and settle in with his new family.
Ongoing Health
Benson is currently undergoing heartworm treatment, so he is available for local adoption only while he completes his care. Once he's finished treatment, he'll be ready to enjoy a long, healthy life with the family he deserves.
Training & Support
Like many young dogs, Benson is still working on his house training, but he's eager to learn and responds well to positive guidance. With a little patience and consistency, he is making great progress.
