Chowder

Chowder is a 3-year-old, 57lb male dog with a predominantly white coat and tan markings. He may seem a bit reserved when he first meets you, preferring to explore on his own terms, but once he settles into a home, his true playful personality will shine through! Chowder absolutely adores toys, especially playing tug. He's also a big fan of rolling in the dirt and going on hikes, so an active family would be a great fit. He'll happily come over to greet you, and his tail will wag even faster if you have a treat to offer!

Ideal Home

Chowder would do best in a mature home where everyone is old enough to understand when he needs his space. Young, noisy, or busy children can make him uncomfortable, and he's also not a fan of loud noises. He has lived with cats and may enjoy the company of a calm, like-minded dog friend, but a dog introduction is recommended to ensure a good match.

Ongoing Health

Chowder has been neutered. He was mostly potty trained in his previous home, but occasional accidents may occur, so some patience will be needed to help him reach full potty-training success.

Training & Support

Chowder knows basic commands like sit, stay, lay down, and shake. He does best on walks when wearing a harness. While he loved water, he wasn't a fan of baths in his previous home. He can be a bit socially awkward around other dogs, so slow introductions are key.
