This adorable 5.5-year-old spayed female Staffordshire mix, weighing about 60lbs, has a face you won't soon forget. Akira was saved from a euthanasia list with just minutes to spare and has been patiently waiting for her forever family for almost nine months. We can't understand why this sweet girl hasn't received more attention, as she is truly a gem.
Akira is fully crate-trained and knows her basic commands. She has the most endearing puppy-dog eyes and longs for a person to snuggle with. She's a big love bug who truly believes she's a tiny lap dog! During the day, she enjoys napping on her comfy dog bed until it's time for a walk. Akira is a good listener, follows commands well, and takes treats very gently. To keep herself entertained, she loves to chew on bones or play with her stuffed toys.
Akira adores people and enjoys the company of calm, submissive dogs. However, her ultimate dream is to be your one and only companion. This big-hearted girl is a kind soul, and we can't wait to see her find her forever best friend. In return, she promises a lifetime of unconditional love!

Transportation
Akira is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX. She can be transported out of state once an approved adopter is lined up. Transports run every few weeks, and she will be on the next available transport once approved. If you cannot accept a dog until a specific time, please apply at that time.
