Meet Raiya! This sweet 11-year-old Terrier mix is a calm and elegant companion weighing in at 46 pounds. Raiya loves to be close to her people, enjoying simple pleasures like walks, naps, and a good carrot! She's a steady and low-energy girl, perfect for a household that appreciates a relaxed pace. Raiya is house-trained, friendly towards strangers, and gentle with children, though she does announce visitors with her voice. She knows basic commands like "sit" and "come" and responds well to consistency and kindness. Raiya enjoys her two meals a day, is content when left alone, and likes occasional car rides. She's motivated by rawhides, dental chews, and especially cooked chicken! To keep her happy and healthy, treats are best offered with a closed hand.

Raiya would thrive in a peaceful environment with a fenced yard where she can feel secure. Because of her medical needs, she needs a home without other dogs.

Ongoing Health

Raiya is being treated for an autoimmune condition that requires ongoing medication, regular veterinary care, and routine bloodwork. She also experiences recurring UTIs, occasional digestive upset, and arthritis. Some of her medications can cause increased thirst and more frequent urination, so patience is key.
