Elmo is a charming 10-month-old Great Pyrenees mix with a heart of gold and a story of resilience. He came to us after sustaining a hip injury with a bullet lodged near his spine. The bullet has since become encapsulated, and veterinary specialists have confirmed that attempting removal would pose a greater risk than leaving it in place. The wonderful news is that this condition does not hinder Elmo's ability to live a long, happy, and fulfilling life. He is healthy, comfortable, and ready to embrace his future!
Ideal Home
Elmo would do best in a home that understands his need for a relaxed lifestyle. While he's not suited for extreme sports like leaping or intense climbing in the immediate future, he is a perfectly normal and joyful dog who loves his walks, his people, and his canine companions. He's good with other dogs and has a special appreciation for a comfy dog bed where he can truly unwind. While he hasn't lived with cats, he showed only mild interest, suggesting that cat-savvy felines would likely be a good fit. Due to his size and medical history, we recommend a home with children over 10 years old or sturdy children who understand the importance of gentle interaction. Elmo will thrive in a home that values him as a wonderful companion, even without the need for him to be an adventure athlete.
Ongoing Health
Elmo has a bullet lodged near his spine that has become encapsulated. Specialists have advised against its removal due to the associated risks. He is otherwise healthy and comfortable, with no expected limitations on his lifespan.
