You know how some dogs you can just look at and know they are happy, friendly, and good company? That was exactly how I felt the moment I saw Hanky. It was across the yard and I just knew he was going to be a good-time boy and I was not wrong. If pure joy were a dog, it would be Hanky Baby. He is estimated to be just under 1 year old, so he has his happy personality paired with the wiggles and sweetness of the puppy days. Simply, he is the definition of happy-go-lucky, friendly, affectionate, social, and always ready to make a new best friend.
Ideal Home
Hanky would thrive with a family that enjoys walks, hikes, outings, and positive training. Older kids would be a better match at this stage simply because he is still mastering the art of containing his enthusiasm and those jumpy greetings, but this will train away. If your kids know how to say "NO!", then he will be a perfect fit. He is sunshine in puppy form - sweet, loving, eager, and ready to grow into the very best version of himself. He is super sweet with kids and even though he's a puppy, he does not jump on them and just wants to be near them. He cannot meet a stranger with people, dogs, and cats; he just wants to play and be in the middle of all of the fun.

Training & Support
Hanky is house and crate trained and has a great base of those wonderful house manners all dogs need. He already knows "sit" and will work for a treat, making him a dream to teach. One area he will need continued guidance is on-leash walking, but he is responsive, sensitive in all the right ways, and thrives when someone shows him what's expected. He did wonderfully with the cat during his assessment and is at the ideal age to learn good manners around feline friends. With guidance and consistency, he can absolutely become a cat-compatible household member.
