Ukulele is a 2-year-old, 13-pound scruffy Terrier mix with the unmistakable energy of a mom who has seen everything and is still somehow the one keeping the whole operation running smoothly. She came into rescue with her son, Fiddle, and while he may be busy providing the soundtrack, Ukulele is the stage manager, security team, and event coordinator all rolled into one adorable package. In play groups, she excels at participating while simultaneously supervising, always keeping an eye on things to ensure everyone is behaving appropriately and to address any brewing toy disputes. She seems to have appointed herself the unofficial director of quality assurance! Despite her watchful nature, Ukulele is incredibly sweet, easy to love, enjoys making friends, spending time with people, and being part of the action, provided she knows what's going on at all times. Her wonderfully scruffy look and expressive face make it seem like she's always processing at least two thoughts ahead. Ukulele prefers to set the tune, not in a bossy way, but more in a "someone should probably be keeping this train on the tracks" kind of way. At the end of the day, she's a loving companion with a gentle heart, a social spirit, and enough personality to keep life interesting. She's ready to retire from full-time supervisory duties and focus on walks, cuddles, snacks, and a family of her own.
