Meet Willow!
Willow is a courageous two-year-old Siberian Husky/American Pitbull Terrier mix with a tricolor coat that shimmers as brightly as her unstoppable spirit. She's a distemper survivor with a fighter's heart, who has blossomed into a loving, curious girl with an incredible zest for life. You'd never know she's endured so much when she's trotting happily on a long walk or curling up for a cuddle session. She absolutely loves walks, whether it's a brisk stroll or an adventurous hike, she's happiest when exploring the world with her person!
Ideal Home
Willow thrives with a calm, adult family that values routine and kindness. She would flourish in a home that can offer her one-on-one love, structure, and understanding. She is looking for a single-dog home, as she can guard her food around other dogs. She is also fearful of strangers, particularly men, and can react defensively when she feels unsure or unsafe. Willow prefers guardians who are home often and understand the beauty of going slow and steady.
Ongoing Health
Willow is a distemper survivor.
Training & Support
Willow can guard her food around other dogs. She has shown protective behaviors and tends to nip when overly excited. She is fearful of strangers, particularly men, which can cause her to react defensively. These behaviors are rooted in past trauma and fear, and she is actively working through them in a board-and-train program focused on building confidence through positive reinforcement. Willow is crate trained, house trained, and knows the "sit" command.
