Sentry is a 6.5-month-old male Retriever/Pit Bull mix who currently weighs 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. He was rescued from the woods with his mother, Wanda, and littermates and has been raised in a loving foster home. Sentry wakes up happy and eager to cuddle, play, and explore. He is affectionate, playful, and loves people and other dogs. He is potty trained and is growing into a confident, well-rounded dog. Sentry is outgoing and friendly, always ready to make new friends. He has done well with children and has been raised alongside other dogs, though he has not been tested with cats. He is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience and is eager to learn.
Ideal Home
Sentry is looking for a family committed to reinforcing good manners, building his confidence, and helping him continue to mature. We prefer homes that already have another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor and guide him. If you don't currently have a dog, we'd love to hear your plan for continued socialization. Because Sentry is still a young dog, we also prefer homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned in the listing.
Training & Support
Sentry is potty trained and is continuing to learn leash skills and basic obedience. Ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice will help him thrive. Continued socialization is also very important for his development.
