At just 1-2 years old, Paul has already overcome more than most dogs ever should. Paul came to us after a tragic accident left his back legs dragging. We feared the worst, but Paul had other plans. Through determination, rehabilitation, and an incredible will to keep going, he has continued to beat the odds every single day. While he's still working to build strength and muscle in his back legs, the progress he's made has been nothing short of amazing. What hasn't changed through it all is Paul's love for people. He is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and eager to make his humans happy. He's the kind of dog who just wants to be by your side and soak up all the love and attention you have to give. Paul has spent some time in the play yard with another dog here at the shelter and did well. Because he's still rebuilding his strength, the interaction was kept short, but we're happy to help arrange a meet-and-greet with any resident dogs before he goes home to make sure it's a good fit. Unfortunately, as it is for many dogs, shelter life has been incredibly overwhelming for Paul. He spends his days barking at everyone who passes his kennel - not because he's being mean, but because he's desperate to get out. He wants a quiet place to rest, continue healing, and finally be someone's beloved companion. Paul doesn't need perfection. He just needs someone willing to believe in him the way he's believed in himself every step of this journey. Ideal Home
Paul would do best in a home without cats. He has shown potential to do well with other dogs and we are happy to facilitate introductions.
Ongoing Health
Paul is recovering from an injury that affected his back legs. He is still working on building strength and muscle in this area.
Training & Support
Paul can be vocal in his kennel due to the stress of shelter life, but this is not indicative of his true personality. He is eager to please and a loving companion.
