Addie is a sweet, 4.5-year-old, spayed female Pitbull Terrier mix who weighs about 45 pounds. She was rescued from the streets of Houston, Texas, where she was found suffering from mange, severely underweight, and having had a lifetime of struggles. Despite her past, Addie is a willing and promising pupil, eager to learn what it means to be a cherished house dog and is truly enjoying her new lease on life!
Ideal Home
Addie dreams of a home with twice-daily 20-30 minute walks, a yard for her to explore, and plenty of comfy couches to lounge on as she embraces her "Soft Life Era." She would also love to have a male dog sibling to snuggle with. While Addie is generally gentle and could adapt to a home with children, she may do best with older, calmer kids, teens, or adults who can understand and respect her cues. We do not have prior history with cats.
Ongoing Health
Addie is a survivor and has overcome mange and malnutrition. She is now in good health and ready for a loving home.
Training & Support
Addie is crate trained and sleeps soundly in her kennel at night. She has also been trusted to sleep loose in the house without issue, but may have occasional accidents as she settles into a new routine. She is still learning her house manners and will need some patience. Addie is very food-motivated and tends to try and eat other dogs' food, so feeding her separately is recommended. She is getting better at understanding she will receive her own meals. When interacting with other dogs, she prefers male companions of similar or larger size and is curious but hasn't yet found a female dog friend she enjoys playing with.
