Duque

Duque is a handsome 4-year-old English Shepherd mix, weighing around 42 lbs with a striking black and white coat. He's a friendly and loving boy who adapts quickly to new people and surroundings. Duque enjoys being petted, spending quality time with his family, and especially loves going for walks and being active. He's potty trained and leash trained, making him a wonderful companion for an active family. Duque is looking for a loving home where he can continue to receive affection and enjoy his daily adventures.

Ideal Home

Duque would thrive in a home with an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and has a fenced backyard. He needs a family with a genuine intention to rescue and a commitment to providing him with the protection and education he needs. Experience with dog behavior and training is highly preferred, or a willingness to hire a trainer is essential. Families with high tolerance and patience for rescued pups will be a great fit.

Ongoing Health

Duque has received comprehensive veterinary care. He is neutered, up-to-date on DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, and has been treated for Bordetella. He is also dewormed and microchipped. Duque has tested negative for heartworm and has received a 4DX test. He is on monthly preventive medication (NexGard Spectra) for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. A health certificate and vaccination booklet are included.

Training & Support

While Duque is potty and leash trained, it's important to understand that rescued dogs, like Duque, may require an adjustment period. He may have fears or anxieties due to past experiences and will need time to adapt to his new environment and family. Patience, understanding, and establishing a routine with clear boundaries are crucial for building trust and a strong bond. Duque is not house-trained, and adopters should be prepared for this.

Transportation

Duque is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. We offer door-to-door delivery for a one-time transport fee of $400 USD. Our transport process includes scheduled trips (3-4 times per year with 15-20 adoptions per trip), a partnered transport company that travels to Mexico, comprehensive legal and health documentation (Transport Contract, USDA Health Certificate, health protocol certificates), and cross-border transport into Texas for US adoptions or to the US-Canada border for Canadian adoptions. You will receive real-time updates via a private Facebook Messenger group, and the transport team will conduct a final home review upon delivery.
