Meet Vanna, an approximately 4-year-old German Shepherd mix with a heart as big as her personality! She's a playful, affectionate, and very devoted companion who loves to be by your side. Vanna is happiest when she's near her people, whether you're relaxing at home or embarking on a new adventure.
Ideal Home
Vanna would thrive in an active home where she can get plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. She enjoys playing fetch and going for walks, and she's a great car rider, making her the perfect partner for outings. Vanna is best suited as the only dog in the home, though she can be playful with very well-matched, larger dogs (around 90 lbs or more) if there are no resources to guard or compete over. She's not a fan of smaller dogs and can sometimes be reactive on leash, so continued leash training will be important. She does, however, get along well with dog-savvy cats! While Vanna is reserved with strangers initially, she is friendly and warms up over time. She hasn't been around children before, but she may do well with older children (12+) who can respect her space and boundaries.
Ongoing Health
Vanna is spayed and vaccinated. Like many dogs who have experienced trauma, Vanna is actively working through some challenges. She has some resource guarding issues with food, toys, and people.
Training & Support
Vanna needs continued support with leash manners and is still polishing up her potty training, with occasional accidents. She is crate trained. With patience, consistency, and understanding, Vanna has a lot of potential to continue growing and learning.
