Big Mama

Big Mama is an affectionate, athletic, adventure-loving 3-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier mix who enjoys going on walks and meeting new people! She was found weighing over 70lbs but is now at a healthier weight of around 60lbs. Big Mama was discovered in the middle of a road and, after a brief stay with finders who had a dog that didn't get along with other canines, she was taken to a local shelter. Due to her breed mix, she was at risk, but thanks to dedicated networking, we were able to bring her to safety. She is incredibly people-friendly and loves to cuddle. Big Mama can sometimes forget her own strength, so be prepared for some enthusiastic zoomies! While she enjoys lounging indoors, she's ready for playtime once she's outside. She has done well with most dogs, particularly medium to large male dogs, but can be assertive with female dogs. A home with only male dogs would be ideal, but she's also happy to be your one and only furry friend.

Ideal Home

Big Mama would do best in a home without young children due to her size and exuberance. She would also thrive in a home with male dogs, or as the sole canine companion.

Ongoing Health

Big Mama has reached a healthier weight and is doing well.

Training & Support

Big Mama is potty and crate trained, knows "sit" and "shake," is very smart, and walks well on a leash.
