Meeka is a gorgeous petite German Shepherd girl who weighs about 53lbs, with incredibly soft fur and beautiful brown eyes. She's estimated to be 5-6 years old and has so much love and companionship left to give.
Meeka came to us as an owner surrender because her family no longer had time for her. She's a sensitive soul who has experienced a few life changes, and when she feels anxious, she can get a bit restless, sometimes turning in circles and barking. The good news is, this is easily redirected by a game of fetch or a favorite stuffed toy! Most of the time, Meeka is a remarkably calm dog with low to medium energy, especially when it's time for her absolute favorite activity: FETCH! She recently had a blast playing soccer with some high school volunteers, showing off her playful spirit.
Meeka is sweet and friendly with everyone she meets, and she's exceptionally loyal and comforting, always happy to be close by and cuddle on the couch. She is incredibly gentle, even taking treats and food from your fingers with the softest touch. Meeka is also wonderful and non-reactive with other dogs – nothing seems to faze her! She walks well on a leash and enjoys car rides. We haven't tested her with cats, but she doesn't appear to have a strong prey drive, so she might do well with them with a little time and patience.
Ideal Home
Meeka would thrive in a home where she can be a close companion. She enjoys being pampered and groomed.

Meeka is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Meeka is house-trained and does not require a crate. Her anxiety can be managed with redirection to play, like a game of fetch.

Transportation
Meeka is currently being fostered in TX. We offer transport services that come through your area once a month. Additional fees apply for health certificate ($30) and transport ($260). Once your application is approved, we can arrange a FaceTime session to meet her. Transport involves scheduled, climate-controlled vans traveling from our rescue ranch near Houston, TX, to a location near you. You will be included in a group chat to track her journey and receive updates on her estimated arrival time. For safety during transport, all dogs are crated.
