Romeo is a handsome, four-year-old, 65-pound American Bulldog mix who is loyal, strong, and full of love! He's a big hunk of a dog who enjoys leisurely walks and showering his favorite people with slobbery kisses and enthusiastic tail wags. Romeo is a social butterfly who attracts attention wherever he goes, happily accepting pets from strangers. This sweet boy was rescued after undergoing emergency surgery to remove a swallowed toy. Since then, he's been living in a foster home, patiently waiting for a loving family of his own. He'd be thrilled to relax at your feet while you work or snuggle up for a movie marathon. Romeo also enjoys a lively game of tug-of-war or a round of fetch with a tennis ball! He's a great traveler, happy to ride in the back seat of the car, and he's a champion when it comes to bath time, tolerating touch all over his body and soaking up every belly rub.
Ideal Home
Romeo would do best as the one and only pet in a home where he can receive all the attention. He is looking for a stronger individual or couple who can manage his excitement and redirect his jumping behavior, and his home should not include young children or other pets.
Ongoing Health
Romeo is a healthy guy who has been neutered, vaccinated (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and leptospirosis), heartworm tested and is on monthly preventative, fecal-tested, dewormed, and microchipped. He is currently taking fluoxetine for separation anxiety, which can manifest as panic and drooling when left alone.
Training & Support
Romeo is still in training mode and has a habit of jumping up when excited. He will also need a bit of help refreshing his housebreaking skills with more frequent, quick walks initially, as he has spent a good portion of his life in a crate.
